OneSearch

Use in NLB libraries
OneSearch

A unique search experience, OneSearch seamlessly provides access via a single user interface to all of a library’s resources even if such resources may reside in different platforms and different locations. Such resources include the library’s catalogue, born-digital and digitised materials of various formats, commercial databases and eBooks. OneSearch simplifies the information search process for users as they no longer need to know which platform the information resides in before searching for it.

Time is saved as the users can simultaneously access more than just the library’s catalogue through a single-sign-on feature

Neither do users need to know which collection the information might be from, saving them the hassle of making a trial-and-error guess for each data source. The search results are classified by their resource types and sources, parked in the library’s pre-defined containers. The search facility for OneSearch will pull out materials from all the collections in Library’s content management system and present the relevant materials to the user via content containers.
