Cybrarian Ventures Pte Ltd (CVPL) , incorporated in 2000, is a wholly owned company of the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore. It was created to be the sole distributor of products and services of NLB. The Company plans to reach out to the library industry to exert thought leadership in library innovations, as well as provide assistance to libraries that wish to expand their services and grow their capabilities. It aims to provide productivity tools to reduce the cost of operations for clients, and to enable libraries to embrace digital technology to better serve users.

The Job:

We are looking for an experienced Librarian to provide library consultancy and project management service for the Company’s clients local and overseas.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide library consultancy and project management services (bidding for jobs; planning, development and implementation of library projects; documentation of library development methodology).
  • Oversee operations of client libraries, mentor CVPL library staff, covering of library staff roles as and when necessary.
  • Manage CVPL innovation services and projects.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by General Manager of the Company.

Qualifications:

  • Masters of Science (Information Science) degree
  • Has at least 8-10 years of relevant library experience in library management and operations, service development, library IT systems
  • Preferably with strong Chinese language ability in writing and communicating (without the need for interpreter)

  • Project management experience, either as a project lead or project manager
  • Able to work fast, under pressure and with tight datelines
  • Willing to travel, even at short notice
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Multi-task, to handling different projects simultaneously and act in a calm and logical manner
  • Good planner and organiser
  • Willing to take up contract/part time/freelance work arrangement
