Library & Archives Solutions Pte Ltd (LAAS) incorporated in 2000, is a wholly-owned company of the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore. Created to be the sole distributor of products and services of NLB, the Company’s focus is to reach out to the library and archive industry to provide support to libraries and archives with the aim to expand their services and grow their capabilities. LAAS also aims to provide productivity tools to reduce the cost of operations for clients, through capacity building programs and enabling libraries and archives to embrace digital technology to better serve its users.

The Job :

Library and Archives Solutions Pte Ltd is looking for Trainers (Full / Part-time) with drive, flexibility, and passion to support us in the design and delivery of specific training materials in the library and archives industry in Singapore and across the region.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Conduct in-house and general programs on subjects such as Record Management, Metadata, Digitization, and other library related courses
• Assist in the preparation of training materials
• Analyse training feedback and evaluation for improvement and enhancement of courseware
• Other duties and projects as assigned

Skills requirement :

• Confident in presentation skills and excellent listening skills together with a passion to deliver the identified learning outcomes.
• Confident in stand-up training, facilitation, and assessment
• Willingness to learn and have the desire to develop classroom skills, both virtual and on-site, and further knowledge of the subject matter being delivered.
• Willingness to understand and be familiar with the objectives of the course, the participants and the training materials.
• Have a passion for people development with a flair for training.

Qualifications :

• A recognised graduate qualification, preferably in Library/Information Studies.
• 3 years of professional Librarian working experience in the library/archive environment is preferred
• ACTA or ACLP certified preferred.
• Familiarity with WSQ programmes, especially with the policies and administration of various government schemes and grants for training will be advantageous.
• Prior training experience is preferred, both in a virtual and on-site professional environment and having work experience in a library or archive setting would be an advantage.
• Part time application : A good track record of training experience
