Roles & Responsibilities
Library & Archives Solutions Pte Ltd (LAAS) incorporated in 2000, is a wholly-owned company of the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore. It is created to be the sole distributor of products and services of NLB. The Company plans to reach out to the library industry to exert leadership in library innovations, as well as provide assistance to libraries that wish to expand their services and grow their capabilities. It also aims to provide productivity tools to reduce the cost of operations for clients, and to enable libraries to embrace digital technology to better serve users.
The Job :
We are looking for an experienced Librarian to be part of our team as a “Library Consultant” to provide library and archives consultancy, and project management services in operations and training for our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provide business support for developing client relations
- Project management of new client services, including reporting of project issues and issue resolution
- Account Manager for client libraries
- Provide consultancy services in library and archives
- Plan and conduct trainings/workshops for industry partners
- Contract management – prepare requirement specifications, tender proposals, evaluation, documentation and manage cross-functional teams
- Perform other tasks assigned by the General Manager of the Company
Desired attributes:
- Strong knowledge of library operations and services
- A team player and able to lead as well as work well in a team
- Has project management experience, either as a project lead or project manager
- Able to work fast under pressure and with tight datelines
- Experience in conducting courses will be highly advantageous
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
- Has strong presentation and communication skills
- Project Management skills
- Strong client relations skills
Qualifications:
- Degree with at least 3 years of library and archives relevant working experiences such as library management and operations, service development, and library IT systems.
- Candidates with experience in library and archives operations, consultancy, and training are preferred.
- Candidates with Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) Certificate in the Training and Adult Education Framework will be highly advantageous.
