This course is highly recommended for new library staff who are required to catalogue library materials with MARC 21 and RDA.

Basic Cataloguing Skills Training Objectives:

  1. Understand basic library cataloguing concepts
  2. Understand the format and process of cataloguing
  3. Apply RDA and utilise online resources for subject classification with Dewey Decimal Classification System (DDC) and Library of Congress Classification (LCC)
  4. Able to create a basic MARC record for different materials
