Library & Archives Solutions Pte Ltd (LAAS) incorporated in 2000, is a wholly owned company of the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore. It was created to be the sole distributor of products and services of NLB. The Company plans to reach out to the library industry to exert thought leadership in library innovations, as well as provide assistance to libraries that wish to expand their services and grow their capabilities. It aims to provide productivity tools to reduce the cost of operations for clients, and to enable libraries to embrace digital technology to better serve users.

Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Library

  • Drive / support library projects / initiatives such as library consultancy, library operations, and training
  • Manage internal / external stakeholders’ expectations of projects
  • Conduct engagement sessions / focus group discussion sessions with clients to share best practices of library management
  • Ensure successful project delivery (cost, timeline and quality).
  • Prepare business proposals & presentations
  • Business support such as following up on leads and formulation of contracts / agreements / MOUs

B. Archives

  • Drive / support file plan & records management projects / initiatives such as file plan consultancy and records management training
  • Review and develop clients’ records management policies, file plan structures, taxonomies, etc.
  • Conduct engagement sessions / focus group discussions / trainings with clients to share best practices of records management
  • Review and recommend best practices of physical and electronic records management in areas such as appraisal, archival and declassification
  • Ensure successful project delivery (cost, timeline and quality).
  • Prepare business proposals & presentations
  • Business support such as following up on leads and formulation of contracts / agreements / MOUs

Job Requirement & Qualifications:

  • Good degree, preferably in Library or Archives-related fields, Information Science, Arts, or Business Administration
  • 5 years of experience in implementing library and records management initiatives/projects in both Public & Private sectors. Fresh graduates with good academic results are welcomed to apply
  • 2-3 years of experience conducting engagement/focus groups sessions in both public & private sectors.
  • Good understanding of records management requirements and practices in the public sector, archiving and information classification concepts and systems, and the implementation of digital solutions and technological tools e.g. SharePoint
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, and can engage diverse stakeholders e.g. senior management, IT team and external agencies
  • Strong project management, organization and analytical skills with the ability to handle competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player, independent, resourceful and adaptable
  • Ability to start immediately or at short notice would be an advantage
