Library & Archives Solutions Pte Ltd (LAAS) formerly known as Cybrarian Ventures Pte Ltd (CVPL), incorporated in 2000, is a wholly owned company of the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore. It was created to be the sole distributor of products and services of NLB. The Company plans to reach out to the library industry to exert thought leadership in library innovations, as well as provide assistance to libraries that wish to expand their services and grow their capabilities. It aims to provide productivity tools to reduce the cost of operations for clients, and to enable libraries to embrace digital technology to better serve users.

The Job:

We are looking for experienced Library Officers to manage a government agency libraries and educational institutions.

Roles and Core Responsibilities:

Library Administration:

  • Assist in general administration and day-to-day operations of the library.
  • Create new membership records and maintain borrowers’ records.
  • Assist in asset tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with library’s Standard Operating Procedures

Circulation and Information Services:

  • Assist users with lending service including return and renewal.
  • Update and maintain circulation lists of publications.
  • Assist users with basic research including use of catalogues and databases

Collection Development & Maintenance:

  • Handle all aspects of acquisition and collection development/maintenance.
  • Coordinate with vendors in procurement and delivery of library print and electronic resources.
  • Cataloguing and processing of new library materials.
  • Weed library resources regularly to ensure collection is current and relevant.
  • Conduct annual stocktake exercise.

Library Publicity and Promotion:

  • Promote Library resources & services.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma / Certification in Library Studies (preferred)
  • At least 3 years working experience in a related field
  • Have a track record of library programmes/ initiatives completed previously.
  • Microsoft Office skills and Photoshop skills
  • Strong organizational, administrative, communication and customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build good rapport with all levels of staff
  • Possess strong IT skills; experience in handling Library Management Systems & RFID Systems.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team.
  • Good multi-tasking, interpersonal, problem-solving, communication and organizational skills.
